Voting
1) Voting at the National Convention for the election of Officers or the expulsion of a Member, shall be by
secret ballot, but for all other purposes shall be open unless otherwise determined by the National
Convention.
2) Each Delegate shall be entitled to one (1) vote at the National Convention.
3) Voting at meetings of the Party’s National General Council shall be open unless the contrary is approved
by a majority decision.
4) At meetings of the Party’s National General Council the Chairman shall exercise a casting vote only.
5) In an election for the office of Leader, Deputy Leader, or Chairman, the successful candidate must obtain
more than one half of the votes cast. If no one candidate satisfies this requirement, the election must be
taken again; in the case more than two candidates in the running, the candidate with the least number of
votes will be removed from the running.
6) In an election for any office the successful candidate need only obtain more than any other candidate.
Dues and Finances
1) Every member of the party not otherwise exempted, shall pay into his Branch dues of Sixty Dollars
$60.00 per year; provided that in any case of hardship the Branch may admit a person to membership of
the party and waive the payment of all or part of the dues.
2) In addition to the dues collected, each Branch may collect membership subscription at its discretion.
3) Each Branch may raise funds for specific projects which are approved by the Party’s National General
Council or for its own support.
4) Every member of the Party’s National General Council shall pay into the Council the sum of Two
Hundred and Forty Dollars ($240.00) per year.
5) Affiliated Members shall pay into the Party’s National General Council Three Hundred Dollars
($300.00) per year or a sum calculated on the basis of Five Dollars ($5.00) per member of the affiliated
organisation, whichever is the greater.
6) such dues shall be deemed to include the dues that would be payable to the Council under clause (4)
above by the representative on the Council of the Affiliated organisation.
7) Life members shall pay a single fee of Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500) upon induction as
such a member; provided that; any Member claiming to be a Life Member prior to the commencement of
this Constitution who can substantiate such claim by the signature of twelve (12) other members in good
standing, shall be Life Members as if they had obtained Life Membership under this Constitution.
8) Members of the Stalwart’s Council may, however, at any time exempt a member of the Stalwart’s
Council from the payment of dues.
9) The payment of dues to the Party’s National General Council shall exempt the member from the further
payment of Branch dues.
10) All funds collected, received and held by the Branches of the Party shall be held by the Branch in trust
for the Party and eighty percent (80%) shall be allocated to be used by the Branch at it’s discretion.
11) The National General Council may authorize the Branch to spend monies for the support of the Branch.
12) The National General Council may from time to time pay or loan to a branch such monies as it consider
appropriate for the support of the Branch or for specific projects; provided; before any such payment is
made, the National General Council must be satisfied that due diligence had been or will be exercised by
the Branch in an effort to raise the necessary funds.
Notices
1) Except in a case of genuine emergency, written notices, including agendas and all other relevant
documents shall be circulated ten (10) clear days prior to any meeting described in any Article under this
constitution.
2) The relevant secretary after consultation with the person authorized to preside at the meeting shall
determine the agenda.
Alteration Amendments and Interpretation
1. The Party’s National General Council shall settle any question as to the interpretation of this
Constitution.
2. Alterations, additions and amendments to the Constitution may be made by resolution and carried by a
two-thirds majority vote at a National Convention.
3. Any proposed alteration or amendment to the Constitution of the Party must be submitted to the
Secretary General at least thirty-five (35) days prior to the date of the National Convention of a special
convention for the purpose.
4. In this Constitution unless the context otherwise requires Life Member means a aember of the Party
under this Constitution, who shall hold membership and be exempted from the payment of dues, for the
rest of his life.
Transitional and savings
1) Persons holding office immediately prior to the commencement of this Constitution shall continue in
office as if elected under the Constitution.
2) Any act of any officer of the Party under the previous Constitution, the validity of which has not been
called into question, shall not be called into question after the commencement of this Constitution.
3) Assets held or liabilities acknowledged by the Party prior to the commencement of this constitution shall
continue to be assets or liabilities of the Party, notwithstanding the adoption of this constitution.
